Curls for a Cure - Rachel
Avon 3 Day
During the weekend of May 17th, I, along with a group of curly haired friends, have decided to form a team and participate in the Avon 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. We are team Curls for a Cure.
This event will begin in Fitchburg, MA and the historic 60-mile walk will finish in Boston. I have agreed to raise a minimum of $1900 before April 1, 2002 and I need your help. Our team, consisting of five women, has decided to walk in honor of those courageous individuals who have battled cancer and live in remission. None of us are athletes. Some are Moms, Sisters, and Aunts. We do have one thing in common – we are all women at risk – and we hope that you will support our fundraising efforts. There will be over 3,000 walkers and I am walking in memory of Charlotte Craig and in honor of Barbara Wharton. My nieces Madison and Allyson lost their grandmother, Charlotte, to breast cancer almost four years ago. My nieces Jessica and Sarah are fortunate that their Grandmother, Barbara, is a survivor of breast cancer. As you can imagine, breast cancer has impacted our family tremendously. Cancer has somehow affected all of our lives and today there are over one million women in America with undetected breast cancer. Fortunately, I am able to participate by walking. The proceeds of your efforts will support non-profit breast health programs in every region of the country, and together we will help women with undetected breast cancer find out early enough to survive. I am counting on you, my neighbors, family, friends, and colleagues to support me by making a contribution to “Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day.” Please take the first step with me by completing the enclosed form with your contribution. All donations benefit the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. Every mile and every contribution makes a difference. Together we can find a cure so that all children have the pleasure of receiving hugs and kisses from Grandma! Thank you, Rachel Goldstein If you will support me in this mission, please click here. One of my teammates is Lissa, visit her site too! |
